The Colorado Educational Theatre Program Strives to Inspire Health-Enhancing Choices Through the Magic of Live Theatre
Since 1985, Kaiser Permanente has improved community health by presenting award-winning educational theatre programs as a free community service. Over 2 million people in Colorado have been inspired to make health-enhancing choices through the magic of live theatre. The programs have evolved into a series of dynamic plays, skill-building workshops and residencies which address a variety of topics for all ages. All programs are developed with the guidance of a community advisory group, health care professionals, and young people.
The show reinforced much of our 'Second Step' program here. The students were entranced by your actors and loved the technology addition. The bullying complaints have gone down since the play. If you come out with support booklets for this play, we would love some. (We still use the leftovers from 'What Would You Do?')
Our whole staff was incredibly impressed with the programs! Our students were very involved and learned so much. We actually see students making better choices in snacks they bring to school. Please know how much we appreciate Kaiser sending us such a 'quality' program. Thank you SO much!
Thanks for putting on a show for us. I LOVED IT!! I think it will make a change in our school. I liked it because you let us help solve the problems. Other people were showing respect after the show. I would say that everyone needs to be nice and respect other people, and just because they're not like us don't treat them differently. You taught us more than just being kind, but being a friend like you guys are...
This is the first time I have ever been in a play. It's amazing. I didn't think I could do it.
The performances were TERRIFIC! Each one was excellent and perfectly appropriate for the age groups. The students AND staff reall enjoyed the shows. I got LOTS of strongly positive feedback, both directly (from people who saw the performances) and indirectly (from parents whose children told them about the performances). We LOVED your shows and can't wait to see them again!
The kids and I thought the program was hysterical, really well acted and I think better than the original Kaiser Permanente performance. The message was clear and easy to follow even for my kindergarteners. I think they really hit on the problems kids face when trying to be fit and healthy in an easy to remember and fun way. We can't wait for the next performance.
